About
Martin Moser, 30 years between finance and technology
The Strategy Circle is my independent, vendor-neutral advisory for AI in the Office of Finance. My job is the link between the people who run the business and the people who build the systems.
I am Martin Moser, and I founded The Strategy Circle. For more than 30 years I have worked where the Office of Finance meets technology, with spells at PwC, Cognos, IBM, Oracle and CCH Tagetik. I am ACCA-trained, an economist from LMU Munich and an FSM-certified mediator. I am based in Arlesheim, near Basel.
One thing I have seen again and again: companies spend heavily on AI and digitalization in the Office of Finance, and the impact never lands. The technology is rarely the reason.
Closing that link is my work. I know the Office of Finance from three decades of practice, and I understand the technology behind it. I translate between the two sides and bring them to a shared view. As a mediator, I get the right people around one table, especially in family businesses where interests pull in different directions.
The Strategy Circle is deliberately lean. I advise on my own and bring in specialists project by project. The strategy stays in one pair of hands, and the deep technical work goes to the people who do it best.
Beyond the DACH region, I hold strategic advisory mandates in Saudi Arabia with Waqour Law Firm and Alphayn Holding, both based in Al Khobar. They give me access to family businesses in the GCC, in close collaboration with local partners.
One thing matters to me: I tie my fee to the impact. If my work brings you no demonstrable benefit, I will tell you so.
